CANCELED SXSW 2020 | Wellness Expo

Unfortunately, due to COVID-19 and social distancing, the annual South by Southwest festival in Austin has been canceled. The 2-day SXSW Wellness Expo event at the Palmer Events Center was expected to attract thousands of people interested in health and wellness as well as numerous companies in the continually-growing wellness industry. Austin’s Running of the Green

Austin’s Running of the Green is a St. Patrick’s Day themed 3.5 or 5.5-mile route that travels across the river into downtown with a tour of some notable sites. Don’t forget to wear green on this run, it could pay off.

Texas Wildflower Run

The Texas Wildflower Run is a traditional 3 to 5.5-mile route that travels on the Ann & Roy Butler Hike & Bike Trail along Lady Bird Lake. One of the best times of the year to plant wildflower seeds in Texas is late winter before the spring showers. At the event native Texas wildflower seed packets will be provided, and with your assistance we will help Mother Nature get a head start on covering the trail with vibrant spring colors. There a several green spaces along the trail that are sheltered from spring time grass mowing and we will attempt to seed these areas. Enjoy cinnamon rolls, coffee, hot chocolate and other snacks when you finish. Mozart’s Christmas Light Show

In case you were wondering if the holidays had arrived, here is your light-based confirmation. In a city overflowing with Christmas traditions, Mozart’s is among the Christmasiest… they go full Chevy Chase from mid-November til New Years every single year. Their light show would win any ‘hood! 2019 Edition (10th Annual), 6-11pm NIGHTLY (through January 5th, closed on Thanksgiving and Christmas) at Mozart’s Coffee Roasters on 3825 Lake Austin Blvd. 

ThunderCloud Subs Turkey Trot

The ThunderCloud Subs Turkey Trot, one of Austin’s most beloved Thanksgiving traditions, started in 1991 with just a handful of volunteers and 600 participants. Today it has grown to be the largest 5 mile run in Texas, with more than 700 volunteers and over 20,000 participants from all over the U.S. and beyond. Not only is it a great way for families to have fun together on Thanksgiving, it’s an event that you can really feel good about being a part of. All proceeds from the race go directly to Caritas of Austin, a non-profit that works to prevent and end homelessness in the Austin community. To date, the Turkey Trot has raised nearly $3.8 million for Caritas. Click Here to register.

Bark Rangers Training

Bring your tail-wagging companion to this fun, hour-long workshop/hike to learn all about safety/1st aid, Leave No Trace, and cool outdoor gear for pets. This workshop is totally FREE.
